The Old Lighthouse
The Old Lighthouse is an ancient structure that dates back to the original city that New Caladain is built upon. It is a simple round tower of four stories. Several linear clumps of stone indicate that outbuildings once stood below the tower but they have long since fallen. A metal pole extends from the dome of the tower atop which is fixed a crescent moon. The glass panes on the light tower have long since broken and the metal mechanism that holds a now broken glass lens has seized with rust and time. The building is in fair condition inside, considering its age but falling stone and rotten wood debris has led the Lord Mayor to decree the site closed, declaring it an archaeological site and ordering the guards at the nearby city gate to keep an eye out for curious trespassers.
Rumors: The Old Lighthouse is a constant source of rumors for the people of New Caladain. Who were the people that once lived here? Where have they gone? Why is this the only building still standing? These are all common questions. The city guard and many residents claim to see strange lights occasionally on dark nights from the towers lookout. Others claim that a gang of thieves operates out of the towers cellar and use an ancient tunnel to enter and exit the city.
